Tbilisi International Airport, operated by TAV Georgia, has welcomed a new airline to its network with the commencement of operations by the French low-cost carrier Transavia France.
The inaugural flight, operated with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, arrived from Paris Orly Airport, marking the beginning of regular service on the Paris–Tbilisi–Paris route. The airline will operate two weekly flights, every Wednesday and Friday.
Transavia France is among eight new airlines added to Tbilisi International Airport’s route map for the 2025 summer navigation season.
The airline operates a network of flights to 120 destinations worldwide, including major European cities, airports in North Africa, and tourist zones in the Middle East. As of 2025, the airline maintains a fleet of 82 aircraft and is jointly owned by Air France and Transavia Airlines, both of which already operate flights to and from Tbilisi International Airport.
The expansion of new routes from Tbilisi and Batumi international airports remains a key strategic priority for TAV Georgia, with a particular emphasis on strengthening European connectivity.
This week, the Swiss airline Edelweiss will also commence operations in Tbilisi, following the recent launch of services by two British carriers—British Airways and EasyJet—last week.
Amid an unprecedented increase in passenger traffic, TAV Georgia continues to invest in the infrastructure development and human resource capacity of both Tbilisi and Batumi airports to maintain the high standard of service.
TAV Georgia has been active in the Georgian aviation market for over 20 years, during which it has invested approximately $230 million USD in the construction and development of Tbilisi and Batumi international airports.
