As part of its corporate sustainability campaign, TAV Georgia is implementing several projects at Tbilisi International Airport, with one of the primary objectives being the reduction of environmental impact.

To minimize the amount of plastic, polyethylene, and aluminum cans that end up in landfills and on the streets of Tbilisi, Sparklo collection machines have been installed near the terminals of Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport. These devices allow individuals to deposit plastic bottles and aluminum cans and, in return, receive points through the Sparklo mobile application, which can be redeemed within the app. Sparklo operates in more than ten countries and is committed to supporting a greener future. The application is steadily gaining popularity in Georgia, which is expected to have an immediate and positive effect on the local environment.

Additionally, Tbilisi International Airport has partnered with the Georgian startup Tene, which is also affiliated with Sparklo. The plastic and polyethylene collected in airport containers are processed by Tene and transformed into high-quality USB charging cables.

Tbilisi International Airport is a member of the French ADP Group and follows its strategic guidelines on innovation and sustainability. TAV Georgia plans to continue supporting innovation and sustainability initiatives throughout 2025. One of the projects currently under development is the introduction of an artificial intelligence-based information robot service, which aims to enhance the passenger experience through advanced digital solutions.
