Due to strong passenger demand, additional carriages have been attached to the Baku–Tbilisi–Baku passenger train service, according to Azerbaijan Railway.
The company’s public relations head, Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, told Report that interest in the route is high, with more than 70% of the 8,400 tickets already sold by the evening of May 25.
Daily passenger train services between Baku and Tbilisi have now resumed. The train departs Baku at 23:10 and leaves Tbilisi at 21:00 on the return route.
The journey takes approximately 9 hours and 30 minutes, including about two hours allocated for border and customs procedures—one hour at each border crossing.
In Azerbaijan, the train stops at Bilajari, Yevlakh, Ganja, and Agstafa stations, while in Georgia it stops at Gardabani and Tbilisi Central Railway Station.
The Baku–Tbilisi–Baku passenger rail service resumed after a six-year pause, with daily operations now underway.
