To promote awareness and increase exports of Georgian wine in the UK market, a professional tasting event titled “The Georgian Palate” was held in London with the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia and organized by the agency’s contractor, Swirl Wine Group.

The event featured a variety of Georgian wines of different styles and appellations. The tasting was led by Sarah Abbott, Master of Wine and founder of Swirl Wine Group, and was attended by wine professionals, media representatives, and figures from the sales sector.

The United Kingdom is one of the world’s largest importers and consumers of wine and, since 2014, has emerged as one of the key strategic export markets for Georgian wine. Through consistent cooperation between the National Wine Agency and Georgian wine producers, a steady growth trend in Georgian wine exports has been achieved.

With financial support from the National Wine Agency, Swirl Wine Group is managing the Georgian wine marketing campaign in the UK in 2025. As part of this campaign, tasting seminars will be held in various cities across the UK; Georgian wine will be featured at international exhibitions, and targeted advertising and media campaigns will be carried out.

One of the key priorities of the National Wine Agency is the promotion and increased visibility of Georgian wine in international markets. Since 2013, the Agency has been implementing targeted advertising and marketing campaigns in the U.S., European, and Southeast Asian markets to diversify export destinations for Georgian wine. With financial and organizational support from the National Wine Agency, during the first eight months of 2025, Georgian wine has been presented at 20 exhibitions/festivals and 145 tasting seminars in 14 countries worldwide.
