Egyptian airline Air Cairo, which has been a presence in the Georgian aviation market since 2014, is set to launch a new air route between Cairo and Batumi.

According to the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia, flights will operate during the 2026 summer navigation season.

“In accordance with the flight application submitted by the airline to the Civil Aviation Agency, non-scheduled (charter) flights on the Cairo-Batumi-Cairo route will take place every Tuesday from June 30 to September 22. Notably, direct air services between Cairo and Batumi have never been operated before.

The Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia granted the airline the necessary permission to operate these flights on March 30.

Currently, Air Cairo operates weekly flights between Sharm El Sheikh and Tbilisi. The introduction of services on this new route will forge a fresh tourist corridor linking the Egyptian capital with the Georgian seaside resort, facilitating the movement of tourist groups between the two nations,” the statement concludes.
