AAmbassadori Aviation Village has officially opened in Kachreti, Kakheti. The $15 million project combines an airfield, flight school, aviation club, aircraft hangar facilities and tourism infrastructure.
The multifunctional complex is designed to support the development of general aviation and aviation tourism in Georgia, while combining aviation, tourism and residential infrastructure across 16 hectares.
What Does Aviation Village Kakheti Include?
One of the main components of the project is an airfield. The main runway is 1,185 meters long and 18 meters wide, with a taxiway connecting it to other parts of the complex.
The complex also includes:
- ✈️ an airfield and taxiway;
- 🛩️ a hangar designed for up to 12 aircraft;
- 🎓 a flight school;
- 🛫 an aviation club;
- 🏡 aviation villas;
- tourism and leisure infrastructure.
The project also has an educational component. The complex is cooperating with the Georgian Aviation University, providing opportunities for students to receive both theoretical and practical aviation training.
The development of aviation infrastructure is also expanding elsewhere in Kakheti. Travel News has previously reported on plans for a new passenger terminal at Telavi Airport.
$15 Million Investment
According to Georgia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the total investment in the project is $15 million. A GEL 10 million loan was also approved to support the project’s financing.
The development of the complex adds another potential tourism product to Kakheti, one of Georgia’s major tourism regions.
How Could Aviation Village Kakheti Support Tourism?
The project goes beyond the development of an airfield. One of its key objectives is to promote general aviation, small-scale aviation and aviation tourism in Georgia.
According to the Ministry of Economy, general aviation includes private flights, air sports, aviation tourism and professional training. The project is also intended to help attract foreign private pilots and aviation enthusiasts to Georgia.
Such visitors can contribute to regional tourism not only through aviation-related activities but also by using local accommodation, restaurants, transportation and other tourism services.
International Aviation Visitors at the Opening
The opening ceremony also attracted international aviation participants. According to official information, a group of private aircraft arriving from Luxembourg took part in the event.
The group included 26 aircraft, and an air show was held as part of the opening ceremony.
Aviation Village Kakheti and the Future of Aviation Tourism
The opening of the complex adds another dimension to Kakheti’s tourism potential — aviation tourism.
The project combines aviation, leisure and tourism infrastructure in one location and could contribute to the development of new tourism experiences in the region.
Future plans also include further development of the flight school and aviation club, giving the project educational and professional functions alongside its tourism component.
