Air Serbia

Starting from June 15, a new European airline, Air Serbia, will enter the Georgian aviation market. The Georgian Airports Association has successfully completed active negotiations with the Serbian flagship.

The airline will operate direct regular flights from Belgrade to Tbilisi and vice versa with a frequency of 3 times a week, using Airbus 319. According to the General Director of the Georgian Airports Association, Levan Moseshvili, there has never been a direct regular flight between Georgia and Serbia before.

“We are pleased that the Serbian flagship, Air Serbia, is entering the Georgian aviation market. The Georgian Airports Association has been negotiating with the airline for several years. Recently, it has become much more intense, and in the final phase, the operator of Tbilisi and Batumi airports, TAV Georgia, has been involved in the negotiations. Finally, we agreed with the airline that during the summer navigation season, direct flights between our capitals will be operated three times a week.

The airline will operate between Belgrade and Tbilisi throughout the year, – said Levan Moseshvili.

Air Serbia is the successor of the first Serbian national airline Aeroput, which was founded in 1927. In 2024, the total passenger flow between Georgia and Serbia amounted to 16,839 passengers. This is 66% more than in 2023.
