Georgia tourism revenue reached $3.8 billion in the first nine months of 2026. This was a 4.4% increase from the same period last year, according to the National Bank of Georgia.
The increase in Georgia tourism revenue highlights the importance of international travel to the country’s economy.
From July to September, international tourism revenue reached approximately $1.86 billion. This was an increase of 11.9% year-on-year.
These results are significant. International travel revenue fell during the first half of the year. According to Travel News’ review of Georgia’s tourism revenue and visitor statistics for the first half of 2026, revenue reached $1.932 billion between January and June. This was approximately 2% lower than a year earlier.
Georgia Tourism Revenue and International Visitor Numbers
Georgia recorded 6,112,078 visits by international travellers between January and September 2026. This was a 0.04% increase from the same period in 2025.
The number of international tourist visits reached 4,404,872. This was a 2.3% year-on-year increase.
These figures show that visitor numbers and tourism revenue do not always change at the same pace. The sector’s performance depends on both indicators. Revenue trends are just as important as the number of visits.

What Do These Figures Mean for Tourism Businesses?
Growth in international tourism revenue matters to hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, tour guides and other tourism businesses.
However, growth across the overall market does not guarantee higher revenue for every business. Results depend on visitors’ countries of origin, length of stay and spending habits. The services they choose also matter.
Tourism businesses should look beyond total visitor numbers. They should identify the source markets that offer the best opportunities for their products and services.
The growth in visits and revenue from the EU and UK is one trend worth monitoring. It may help businesses assess their international markets and plan their marketing activities.
